You may have been here more than we have ever had brunch in our entire lives. Penny University remains a familiar name, tucked in the corner along East Coast Road, for its scrumptious brunch and chill Sunday café vibes. We all know that Penny University is one of the few cafes-to-go ever since the café-hopping trend struck the hipster in all of us. And you bet - Penny is here to stay. The café recently underwent minor renovations, which makes it an even comfier spot to hang out at.
So what’s good here and will leave you coming back for more? Read on to find out.
First things first, coffee. What’s a good breakfast (or any meal at all) without a good cuppa? Enjoy their well-crafted artisanal coffee and soak in the atmosphere as though you’re in a London café.
The best thing about this place is the all-day breakfast menu, so you don’t have to get up for breakfast to get breakfast!
The full English Breakfast and Eggs Benedict are classic favourites!
The English Breakfast is an instant perk-me-up to your morning. A platter of rosemary-infused chicken sausages, sautéed mushrooms with strips of turkey bacon on the side. Not forgetting some hashbrowns, baked beans and your choice of eggs, served on freshly toasted sourdough bread. Sounds like a breakfast for champs? Indeed it is!
How about two perfectly poached eggs served on white bread, your choice of salmon or ham and glazed with homemade hollandaise sauce. You’ll never go wrong with that the Eggs Benedict because, runny eggs, come on!
That’s not all. There are also open-faced sandwiches and cakes for a lighter meal. Perfect to go along with a cuppa.
Penny University is a Muslim-owned café, so friends; you don’t have to think hard to accommodate your Malay friend if you’re planning for a brunch out!
